Our History

1996

Norman Springford opened the first Apex Hotel in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket in 1996 with a vision to reimagine city hotels stays with a genuine commitment to exceptional hospitality.

1996-2017

What began as one independent hotel in central Edinburgh, soon expanded into a portfolio of iconic city-centre hotels located in Edinburgh, London, Bath, Dundee and Glasgow.

2023

In 2023, we expanded beyond city locations with Pine Trees Hotel in Pitlochry and Meldrum House Golf Resort & Spa in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

2024

In 2024, we acquired The Vineyard Hotel & Spa in Berkshire.

Apex Hotels was named one of Scotland’s ‘Fastest Growing Companies’ by the Fast Growth Index Awards.

2025

Apex Hotels assumed custodianship of the historic Dunblane Hydro Hotel, safeguarding its heritage while ushering in a new era for this iconic landmark.

In 2025, Apex Hotels Group has formally rebranded as Apex Hospitality Group, operating three distinct business divisions Apex Hotels, Monogram Collective and Hospitality Linen Services.
